Nur Richana was born in Temanggung, Central Java on July 25, 1954. Completed basic education at SD Negeri V Temanggung 1967, SMP Negeri I Temanggung 1970, and SMA Negeri I Temanggung 1973. He obtained a bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Gadjah Mada 1983, a master’s degree in Agricultural Industrial Technology at the Bogor Agricultural Institute in 1997, and a doctorate in Agricultural Industry at the Bogor Agricultural Institute in 2006. And in 2012 he was allowed to give his inaugural speech as a Research Professor.
In 1983 he worked as an honorary worker at the Maros Food Crops Research Institute, then was appointed as a Civil Servant Candidate in 1985. Then in 1993 he moved to the Bogor Food Crops Research Institute, which is now the Research and Development Center for Agricultural Biotechnology and Genetic Resources. Currently working at the Center for Agricultural Postharvest Research and Development. Various non-structural activities include the head of the bioprocess group, members of the program team, members of the formulation team for several seminars, and as members of the evaluation of research within the Central Bureau and the Agricultural Research and Development Agency, as the Research Assessment Team for the Ministry of Agriculture (functional researcher). Other activities as an editorial board (4 Journals) as well as being a Mitra Bestari/peer reviewer (more than 8 Journals).
In fostering scientific cadres, he has provided guidance for Diploma, Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral students at Gadjah Mada University, Bogor Agricultural Institute, 45 Ujung Pandang University, Pasundan University Bandung, and the Bogor Academy of Analytical Chemistry.
Research collaboration with Bogor Agricultural University and Gadjah Mada University with ARMP (Agricultural Research and Management Project), PAATP (Participatory Assessment of Agricultural Technology Project), KP3T(Kerjasama Kemitraan Penelitian Pertanian dengan Perguruan Tinggi / Agricultural Research Partnerships with Universities), KP4S funds as well as RUT (Riset Unggulan Terpadu/ Integrated Research Excellence), DIKTI (Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi/ Directorate General of Higher Education) and SEAMEO BIOTROP (Southeast Asian Regional Centre for Tropical Biology) funds. In order to increase research capability, laboratory research training, research management has been carried out at home and abroad.
The awards that have been received are Satya Lancana Karya Satya XX, XXX, as Outstanding Lead Researcher by the Ministry of Agriculture, Republic of Indonesia in 2011 and an award from the President Republic of Indonesia for Adhikarya Pangan Nusantara in 2013.
