Prof. Dr. Suyamto Hardjosuwiryo

Prof. Dr. Ir. Suyamto was born in Boyolali, Central Java, on November 13, 1953. He received his B.S. (S1) in soil science in 1978 from the Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta-Indonesia. Since joining Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development (IAARD) in 1979, he was assigned to take Ph.D Program at the Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University. His Doctor (Ph.D.) was obtained in 1986 also in soil science. After he got his Ph.D. in 1986, he conducted research, mainly in soil science and farming system research, especially for food crops, horticultural crops and livestock. Senior researcher as the highest level of researcher in Indonesia was achieved in 1999, Research Professor was obtained in 2006.
He has retired as the senior researcher in soil fertility and Farming System Research from East Java-Assessment Institute for Agricultural Technology (AIAT-East Java), IAARD, Ministry of Agriculture, in December 2018. Since 2019, he has been active as lecture (NIDK) at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Islam Malang, East Java up to now. He has published more than 140 scientific papers.
Suyamto has almost 16 years experiences as research managers in some research institutes and research centers in Indonesia under IAARD (1 April 1995 until 30 November 2010). He also has experiences in coordinating and collaborating research projects with national as well as international research organization (IRRI, CIMMYT, CIAT, ICRISAT, CIP, AVRDC, IPI, IPNI, ACIAR, JIRCAS, RDA).
Some trainings and educations : Statistical in Agricultural Climatology in Reading University, UK (1989), Diklatpim tk III (1995), Executive Management Development Program in India (1999) dan Bogor (2000), Master Class in Agricultural Research Management in Sydney, Australia (2001), Diklatpim tk II (2003).
Awards Includes : Lulusan “Terbaik Pertama” Diklatpim Tk III, Satya Lencana Karya Satya XX Tahun From The President Of RI, Inovasi Pangan Dan Pertanian (Agricultural And Food Innovation) From The Minister Of Agriculture 2015.
